Semester Credit Hours
One semester credit hour means that a particular course must have at least one hour of class contact per week for a period of 13 - 15 weeks. Hence a course of three semester credit hours will approximately meet for 39-45 hours during a semester.
During one semester a student can take up to 6 courses or 18 credit hours, whereas a minimal of 3 courses per semester are required.
A student can drop a semester and can continue in the next semester, BUT two consecutive semesters cannot be dropped and a maximum of 2 semesters can be dropped during the program.
Grades
All students receive grade reports indicating academic progress at the end of each semester for which they were enrolled.
Institute of Business Administration (IBA) follows a 5-point grading system. The numerical equivalence of letter grades awarded is given hereunder:

The student's grade point average (GPA) is computed by multiplying the number of credit hours of each course by the grade point gained in that course, then dividing the sum of these several products by the total number of credit hours in which the student was enrolled.
All grades are determined and awarded by respective course instructors.
Grades Policy, Academic Probation and Dismissal
A minimum of GPA 2.0 is required to clear a semester at IBA. Students who fail to maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher will be put on probation for the next semester. They will repeat the courses with F or D grades to elevate their GPA. If a student fails to maintain a GPA of 2.0 for three consecutive semesters, he will be dropped from the IBA program.
If a student's GPA is above 2.0 but he fails in a course (i.e. he earns F or AF), he is required to repeat the course.
To be eligible for admission in foreign universities, a student needs to secure a GPA of 3.5 or better.
All students at IBA are therefore required to maintain "Good Standing" throughout their tenure of stay. They are accepted and consciously driven to work significantly harder than usual norms in order to maintain the required grade point average (GPA).
Transcript Policies
Official transcripts of the student's complete academic record are issued on institute's secure stationary, and bear the official embossed seal of IBA as well as that of King Abdul Aziz University.
Transcripts or other evidence of attendance will not be issued to or on behalf of a student while he/she is in debt of IBA. All outstanding balances should be cleared with the institute before a transcript record is issued.
Examination System
The full marks
